RBJ Giving Back — RBJ serves dinner at New England Center for Homeless Veterans

By Joseph Olin

On Monday June 25th, eight members of Richards Barry Joyce & Partners volunteered to serve dinner at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans in downtown Boston.

We arrived about 15 minutes before it was time to serve, and in almost no time we each were putting on aprons, gloves, and hats/hairnets ready to serve the 100+ veterans ready for a hot meal! Joseph Olin, Kristin Joyce, Abby Callahan, Emma Geldmacher, and Alyse Garner (who selflessly organized and coordinated the event) served entrees and sides, Roy Sandeman served drinks, and Jared Pimm and Garrett Hatton were on ice cream duty.

It was truly a privilege to volunteer; each of these men and women served to protect our country, and we were all more than willing to help them back. Everyone was very appreciative and grateful for us being there which made it that much more rewarding. On a personal side, it was on my first day working at RBJ—not only was it an additional bonding experience to share with my new coworkers, but it was nice to know I’m joining a company that takes a proactive approach in giving back to the community.
