Former Atrium Mall Will Be Transformed Into 286,000 SF Of Office And Medical Space

BOSTON – September 20, 2012 – Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, LLC (RBJ&P), a full-service commercial real estate advisory firm, announced today that The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. has retained the firm as the exclusive leasing agent for Atrium Center at Chestnut Hill (Newton, Mass.).

Atrium Center is a mixed-use facility being redeveloped by Bulfinch on the site of the former Atrium Mall, which the company purchased in July 2012.  The building is being completely transformed into a 286,000 square foot state-of-the-art office and medical center.  Atrium Center offers tremendous visibility and central location, situated prominently on Route 9 just 3 miles from Longwood Medical Area and minutes from Route 128.  Significant traffic improvements along Route 9 are expected to be complete in 2013, further improving accessibility.  Additionally, the building will offer shuttle bus service to and from the MBTA.

Atrium Center is being redeveloped as fully sustainable, with a minimum LEED Gold certification.  The building’s sustainable design solutions will include: water and energy conservation through passive daylighting techniques and efficient lighting and plumbing fixtures; roof greening; and designated, preferential parking for carpooling, low emission, hybrid and electric cars, as well as bicycle storage to encourage alternate commuting solutions.

The building will offer one of the region’s most comprehensive amenity packages.  Onsite amenities will include a full-service fitness facility, food court style eateries and catering, valet parking, and Wi-Fi in public areas.  A convenient underground garage offers more than 1,000 parking spots.  Nearby amenities are abundant with three premier mixed-use developments just steps away, including the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, Chestnut Hill Square, and The Mall at Chestnut Hill. All are within minutes and offer numerous fine and casual dining options, fitness, banking, daycare center and more.
